Richard Bakewell grew up and found an immediate love for the cinema and the film making process. Richard attended Columbia College Chicago with a concentration in Cinematography.  After graduation Richard moved to Los Angeles to work as a Camera Operator on a daytime docu-reality drama entitled Starting Over, which won two Daytime Emmy awards.   Three years ago Richard also won a Primetime Emmy for his camera work filming HAIRSPRAY LIVE!

Richard has spent the last 17 years tenaciously working as a Director, and Director of Photography for commercials, branded content, narrative films, and documentaries.  Some of Richard’s latest work can be seen on Last Chance U, Netflix: Grass Is Greener, PBS: Asian American Series, and Catching A Serial Killer: Sam Little.

Richard founded LIGHTFORCE PICTURES in 2002, which specializes in areas of film and video productions.  The Rabbit Hole  is Richard’s 6th film and has already won 5 awards and screened domestically and internationally at 25 Film Festivals.  Currently Richard is directing and producing a documentary called Living With The Silence, about families who have lost a child from police brutality, as well as writing a feature length psychological Sci-Fi film called Roswell Delirium
